Upcoming Surgery: Part 2

I called the scheduler for my OB/Gyn's office today about the surgery and the date is set for October 12th.  I have pre-admission testing on October 10th but no times have been set yet as they wait until closer to the surgery.  I will have to take off at least a week from work to recover.  I haven't let anyone at work know yet, though, but I probably will look into HR's policy on a temporary medical leave.  I don't qualify for FMLA since I haven't been there a year yet, but I should have enough vacation time racked up so I won't go unpaid.

As for how I'm feeling, I had a lot of abdominal cramps since yesterday, but I took regular Tylenol.  My doctor prescribed something stronger but I'm trying to avoid taking it unless absolutely necessary since it can be addictive and habit-forming.
