OnlySunshine
I received the results back from the scan last Friday and everything appears normal in my GI tract - no inflammation, scarring, or intestinal wall thickening (all good news). The radiologist noted cysts on both my kidneys but they are minimal and very small - about 3mm according to the report. My primary care doctor stated there is nothing to worry about since they aren't big. The same day I received the results, I ended up in the ER due to severe lower back pain on my right side. I was driving home when it happened and it was extremely sharp - the kind of pain that takes your breath away. I immediately called my mom and told her I wanted to go to urgent care, but she thought I had a kidney stone and should go to the ER. I was able to drive myself there because the pain was intermittent. By the time I got to the ER, I had intense nausea and was feeling dizzy with a headache. I was triaged about 30 minutes later and my BP was 162/97 (it's never been that high). I didn't have a fever and my pulse was a little on the high side at 118. The nurse sent me back into the waiting room where I was met by my mom and we waited for another 30 minutes before being called back. Unfortunately, by then, my pain had gone from sharp to dull and achy so the ER doctor was of no help. He ran some bloodwork and a urine test and 6 hours later told me to follow up with my primary care doctor since he couldn't find anything. I didn't get home until about midnight. I saw my PCD today and she doesn't think I have kidney problems - she thinks it's an ovarian cyst since I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and to consult with my GYN doctor. Earlier this week, I set up an appointment with him since the progesterone shot has been causing crazy bleeding that's lasted 4 weeks now. Please say some prayers that my GYN doctor can figure out what's going on and I can get some treatment. I see him next Thursday.
