Blessed Raymond Lull and Fr. Hamel, Martyrs

Instead of horoscopes I follow people's birthday and read the Saint celebrated that day.  Saint of the Day.  So I was looking at my sister's Saint of the Day and June 30 celebrates Blessed Raymond Lull.  He was a missionary to convert Muslims in  North Africa in the early Middle Age.  He answered the call to evangelization by establishing an order which educated missionaries in Arabic and Hebrew language and culture.  

When I read this I was like "Wow a saint for our time."; it gave me a fresh breath of hope.  Then hope was immediately dashed when I read he was stoned to death by Muslims.  

It seems the only hope for the Christian cause for Muslims is Martyrdom.
