OnlySunshine
After calling my GI doc's office, the nurse uploaded the results of my colonoscopy to my patient portal so I could read them (I prefer to read them myself rather than her read them to me because she is very abrupt). The results were that the biopsy samples were negative for colitis (microscopic and collagenous), Crohn's, and other IBDs. While I'm glad of the results, I'm still without answers as to why I'm having such bad symptoms - last night was a prime example. In spite of the medication the GI gave me, it's not going away. He seems to think it is "simple" IBS, but I've had IBS since 2003 and these symptoms are much worse - they have been mistaken for gallbladder symptoms because of where they are located. I see the GI for a follow-up on the 5th (Friday) and I'm giving him one more shot to see if he will continue with testing to figure out what is going on or if he will just give up. If I don't feel like he is taking me seriously, I plan to fire him because he passes off my symptoms like they are nothing but they are interfering with my life. I've looked up other doctors in the same group since they are on my HMO and found one further away but she specializes in intestinal disorders whereas my current doctor specializes in pancreatic and biliary diseases. I am going to request 1 more scan - a small bowel MRI because IBD can hide there where no endoscopy or colonoscopy can reach. I want to rule it out completely before moving on.
