Thank God the Church isn't perfect...if it was, it would only have room for perfect Catholics, and that ain't me! :)

Thanks for the clarification, Cmom. :)

I use the word "Church" somewhat freely. I know that the Church as a divine institution is without blemish.

But is it also without blemish as a human institution? If so, let me know, and I will rephrase my above thanksgiving.

What I meant was, thank God for heterodox clergy, for mean and judgemental and even apathetic Catholics, for masses and homilies that make you grind your teeth, and for all the problems with the "Church" (<--- I mean this as a human institution.) Because of all this, they can't tell me, "I'm sorry, you can't come here...your too mean, too apathetic, too judgemental," or whatever other personal faults I may have. If the Church didn't have problems, it would expect me not to have problems.

That's what I meant. :)

But I submit to the Church in all things, and I hope I haven't said anything in error.

God bless.

The Church is without blemish. Her members are not -- me being one of those sinful members. But that's not to say that the Church isn't perfect.

God bless,

Jen
