katherineH
Hello friends, I remember reading a church document about Mary in which she was described with the greek word that meant "remnant." The idea was that within with the Israelites, there was a strand of faithful ones (the remnants) and Mary in her fiat mirrored their faithfulness. Does anyone know what the greek word is? I've looked high and low. Thanks!!
Amppax
The document is probably referring to Romans 9-11 (specifically 11:5), where Paul speaks about the faithful remnant. The Greek word λεῖμμα (leimma) is used in this passage. If you're ever looking for the Greek or Hebrew used in various biblical passages, an excellent resource is https://www.blueletterbible.org/. It's very Protestant, but an excellent tool for research.
