Luigi
Further details, including intentions of the day and the novena prayer, are in the hyperlink. "Two years ago, on August 6, 2014, hundreds of members of our Dominican Family (sisters, friars and laity), along with thousands of their Iraqi brothers and sisters, were forced to flee from their homes in the early hours of the morning, with little but what they could carry in their arms. ISIS swept through the northern Iraqi Nineveh Plain that day with a vengeance. The Dominican "Iraq Solidarity Committee" is planning a NOVENA of PRAYERFUL SOLIDARITY this July-August to show our Dominican Family in Iraq that they are not alone. The Novena begins on July 29th and ends on the Feast of the Transfiguration (the day they had to flee their homes in 2014)." http://www.op.org/en/content/novena-prayerful-solidarity-dominican-family-iraq
