Visual Bible

I  bought a Visual Bible DVD set on Amazon recently:

I have only watched the Gospel of John but it is pretty amesome I must say. It makes the book so much easier to take in. Highly recommended.

But I must warn you that they don't use the Vulgate. Not even the Douay-Rheims. Tisk. Tisk. That is the only knock on it.

I think they do a set for some of the major parts of the OT too, so I might pick those up.

I also got the Truth and Life New Testament on CD so that I can listen to it in my car:

It's pretty good. Not up quite up there with a Kanye West CD, according to Kanye West.  But recommended as well.

I think some of the stuff you can get on free on Youtube but I think they are worth buying.

Nice. I bought the Gospel of John Visual Bible movie several years ago. It's great and it makes the Gospel really come alive.  And I really enjoy the narration by Christopher Plummer.

I especially love that scene where Jesus tells Nathaniel that he saw him under the fig tree and then it cuts to a shot of Nathaniel sitting under the tree praying with the sun (symbolizing God) shining down brightly upon him. It gets to the mystery of Jesus being here on earth but still present in heaven, because he's God. Beautiful scene.

The Old Testament stuff is on YouTube but it's definitely worth buying for sure.

 And I also have the Truth and Life CD set. I hope they do the entire Old Testament as well.
