Consecrated life

Secular Institutes are institutes of consecrated life. It is a vocation but not of religious life. IS this page an appropriate place to talk about this vocation?

Welcome Robin. :)

I can't answer your question, but I know that other members will be able to do so-  and will do so given time.  I am in Australia (4.15pm) and probably the bulk of members are not yet awake.

I am from India and a member of a secular institute. It is a choice which I made many, many years ago and a choice I do not regret

Welcome, Robin! :)

Yep, as the others say, totally okay to talk secular institutes here. Lots of members of SIs post here already. You're in good company! :like2:

Welcome Robin. I'm in formation with a secular institute founded in the spirituality of Bl. Charles de Foucauld, the Jesus Caritas Fraternity. It's only five years since I began writing to them and two years since I knew it was for me, so it's all quite new to me still. :) I'm always excited when other secular institute members pop up like this, as we are quite a hidden group. (I like to think of us as God's guerrillas. Obviously not the violent kind.) Do you want to say a bit about your own institute and its spirituality?

I have been in Christ the King secular institute for quite a while now. You can read more about us on the website http://www.istitutosecolarecristore.org/  and in brochure form on http://www.istitutosecolarecristore.org/inglese/documenti/brochure.pdf

We are fully lay persons with secular jobs - like doctors, mechanics, school teachers.......  And we "hide" in plain sight.!! Our spirituality is that of a lay person,

Great coming in contact with you.
