I'd heard of the war before but not that they actually killed such a number (though it's still seen as an unsuccessful conflict). And, maybe to placate the enemy, we now we have an emu in our coat of arms and on one of our coins. You could always try Tasmania to do your converting. Less people who will probably cause less trouble than us easterners with our iocane powder and criminal tendencies. Combine the two and it makes for a good time. Iocane powder? I spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder. 19 hours ago, truthfinder said: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu_War You young 'uns with your newfangled link-pastes have lost the art of civilized conversation! Don't get me started on cursive.I'm one of those rare birds that still handwrites most things - as in all my thesis notes. It's more so the conventions of spelling (in a different language) have changed (and the fact that 5, 7, and 9 all look the same in this writing style). I also believe cursive should still be taught to everyone (preferably with fountain pens).

vee
I was shocked to find out they dont teach cursive in many elementary schools these days! Its not like you can sign your name on a lease or mortgage etc with an emoji!
PhuturePriest
Learning to sign your name is all cursive is good for. I hate it when people write other things in cursive, like cards. Everyone writes it differently, so trying to figure out what they said is like trying to decode and translate an ancient Egyptian artifact. Really, I detest this entire conversation because it's just reminding me that I have to write several thank-you cards to people who set up a seminarian event, and I hate writing them because I feel the need to make them super long and personal which takes up a lot of my time. Not The Philosopher
This is the 21st century. Catholics should be colonizing Mars and baptizing the Martians instead.

I know and btw, of all the handwriting I've seen - it's the priests who have the worst - lead, at the helm, by the terrible handwriting of their bishop.
