Gabriela
If so, please PM me. I have a job for you (two, actually)!
Seven77
Both are amesome art forms! I would like to study illumination and illuminated manuscripts so I could get some ideas for stuff.
CatherineM
I've done calligraphy since high school, but just for fun. I doodle with speedballs. Not good enough to take on something bigger than a name on a certificate.
Gabriela
Yeah, I once asked arfink to do one of these projects, but he got too busy to complete it. I'm basically looking for a phrase written in calligraphy, surrounded by illumination, that I can frame and hang on my wall. It's so hard to find anyone who does this these days... Are there any other sisters who do this kind of work? Maybe in the US?

Maybe in the US? I'm sure that once I found a diocesan hermit (or some kind of consecrated women living in solitude) who did calligraphy. Can't remember the name. Edit : Found it, but in the UK : http://www.stcuthbertshouse.co.uk/ Edited June 24, 2016 by NadaTeTurbe

You're welcome! I googled and found these nuns (only a one word reference) and this monk, but there may be more. I have a feeling I should know of somewhere else too, but can't for the life of me think of it... It might be worth asking around monasteries. Gabriela
I contacted St. Cecilia's. We'll see what they say! Thank you all!
NadaTeTurbe
If they can't, try looking on etsy. Not religious, but there's all kind of artist.
Pia Jesu
Just one more... Try http://www.heartsawake.org (Carmelite nuns, Terre Haute, Indiana). Sr. Mary Grace Melcher does the contemplative work of writing icons and calligraphy. Likewise, Sr. Martha runs a wonderful art/print shop!

Nihil Obstat
Daniel Mitsui has made a bit of a name for himself in the last few years. Very classic style.
Spem in alium
I do calligraphy, but not illumination (though something I'd love to learn!).
