I wanted to send you a PM, but can't so I'm putting this here. I had my gallbladder out at 19. It was full of birdshot sized stones. That didn't end my upper stomach pain. I was eventually diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. There's not really a test for it outside of symptoms and eliminating everything else. 

I was diagnosed because buscopan worked. It only eliminates pain caused by intestinal spasms, so if it takes care of the pain, then it must have been spasm pain. It ended years of trying to figure out what was wrong and coming up empty of answers.
