Need Ideas and feedback for artwork I'm making

 you're right, that is a crazy thought! lol. since there are 5 other sisters making their vows, I don't think that would work...

  another curveball: I just realized that the event is on the Transfiguration! maybe I could make Jesus glow a little more...

I wanted to have beams of fire shooting out from the Holy Spirit. I also wanted to have the crucifix in the midst of water (like an ocean) and some vegetation or vines showing the bearing of fruit (kind of reminiscent of that passage in Revelation and/or in Ezekiel that talks about water from the side of the Temple flowing to the roots of trees, giving growth. But I don't know how to incorporate that into the picture.

Also, I showed the picture to my sister as is. She wasn't really sure about the idea of having 2 "Jesuses"  I also wanted to put a depiction of Our Lady but I'm not sure about that anymore. I might take her out as well the crucifix because they don't seem to flow the way I have them in the picture. I made another icon image for a sister a few years ago and I originally envisioned something like that… you can see it here.

The one that I'm making for my sister is here, attached… it's a work in progress so everything's not perfect :

 

It's pretty good.  In catechism class 7  I usually use symbol within symbols  How about  like meshing the cross somehow with the Divine Mercy

 Thanks for the feedback everybody… been making a lot of progress and I want to share what I've got right now… vastly improved thanks to you guys… and when I  realized  that  the profession will be on the Feast of the Transfiguration, everything clicked:

 I'm thinking about putting the words “listen to him,” in Latin, at the top somewhere… not sure where or how yet…

This is beautiful; well done! Love the colours and symbolism.

Maybe you could place the words between the dove and Jesus, in a sort of arch shape above the rays? Not sure if it would be too cluttered or if you have enough space.
