truthfinder
I watched enough, and I think the tabernacle was empty. But honestly, if the church really wanted to host such a thing, it should have been in a hall not the church proper.
Seven77
It's wrong to use the inside of a Catholic Church for this purpose. The whole thing is like the way that the moneychangers set up shop in the Temple. How can you use a Church as a banquet hall? There are tables and chairs and food and loud talking in what is a sacred place of prayer. Another thing that gets me is, from what I've read, even the inside a mosque is usually considered inappropriate to have iftar! if they wouldn't do if in a mosque, why is this even happening inside a Catholic church? I think that Muslims see the hypocrisy in Christians, probably most especially Western Christians; as do I. I have friends from Afghanistan who get annoyed (I've noted) when Americans talk casually about something that especially to Catholics is Sacramental. I used the wrong quote Seven77 (obviously) and did not mean to tag you. Anyway, I do agree the with Anomaly about the Church being a physical structure; it is just that pivotal things have happened like Baptism, Holy Communion and happy and sad times. We have a Buddhist community taken over most of our closed Churches. I do not believe in 'global religion, however, perhaps I want to remain hopeful and positive re: interreligious dialogue St. JohnPaul ll started. In the end Our Lady's Immaculate Heart will Triumph! Anomaly
I wonder how many jihadists were enraged over Muslims praying in a Christian's building? As many as Catholics who are upset? I wonder how many Muslims and Christians realized each don't really hate each other? I don't see it any different than Christians having an Lenten fish dinner in a mosque and saying a Christian blessing before sharing the meal with Muslims. Fish tacos aren't just for Fisheaters. Bunched your undies this afternoon? Clearly making an hyberbolic comparison of fanatics looking for offense to be enraged over. Don't fatwa me, bro. I really like most Catholics. My most favorite people in the world are Catholics.
<3 PopeFrancis
Muslims are not bad people. Terrorists are people who do bad things. As are fundamental Christians who terrorize. {Just a note: I speak mainly about the three religions stemming from Abraham. If I am wrong about them please let me know right away.}

Hyperbolic or not, you're not going to get far convincing people to take your advice on unity and peace when you compare them to mass-murders, simply because they disagree with you on what a Iftar meal is or is not and whether or not it has a place in a Catholic Church.
