be_thou_my_vision
Hi Pham, I have been active on this forum for a number of years. I entered my former community in 2007 and discerned to leave in 2012, married in 2013 (God wastes no time!!!), had my first child in 2014, and now am expecting another! I am very settled in my vocation. I love it. I pop in from time to time on the forum to see how everyone is doing Well, we are driving up to drop off my sister-in-law (who is much like a sister to me!) at a community of Discalced Carmelite Nuns. She will enter at 1:15 today. It's strange... I've been the one to enter, and now I am one to be sending a family member off to religious life. I have now been on both sides of this situation. I guess I just wanted to share the irony, and how good God is to bless our family in this way. Please pray for us. This community is quite strict. They are a very healthy and balanced bunch, so I'm not afraid of my sister-in-law's welfare whatsoever. However we will have limited contact and there is a double grill, so we won't be able to touch her anymore after she enters. This will be a difficult adjustment for our family. Thanks for reading. Jennifer
The tables have most certainly turned for you................ Following 5 years in a Community you are now happily married and soon to have your second child. It must have been strange for you to accompany your sister- in - law to her convent today.....God most certainly has blessed your family. Many prayers are for you all at this time..........God Bless.!!

HisChild
So wonderful! I love your story. I always used to think that God had brought me into religious life (and then to leave) to be there for if/when He was calling a family member or child to religious life... Sr Mary Catharine OP
We have a friar-brother whose mother applied here. For some reason her application was denied. She met her husband and they had children, one of whom is a DOMINICAN FRIAR! Father is grateful we said no to his mother!

I can certainly say that since my experience being in religious life, I am (already) very supportive if one of my children feels called to religious life. Perhaps my experience has prepared the way for me to be supportive for my kids. Whatever the reason, God is good and that's all that matters!
