beatitude
The feast of the Visitation (31st May) is a special one for me, because my confirmation saint is Elizabeth and the Visitation is a big feast in the spirituality of Bl. Charles de Foucauld, which we follow in my secular institute. So I was a bit disappointed when I saw I'd been rota'd to work a long shift that day and wouldn't be going to Mass. But the Visitation was so important to Charles because he saw it as an example of evangelism - Mary going to sanctify John and his family not through her words but simply by bringing Christ into their home. Please pray that I will carry Christ into the hospital wards whenever I go to work, but most especially on this feast; and pray for my vocation in this institute. Please also pray that I finish the draft of my PhD in good time. I am struggling to fit it in around the long shifts.
