Era Might
I'm not a bmx watcher but I knew Dave Mirra's name casually and happened to see an interview with his wife in ESPN Magazine. He committed suicide in February after suffering from brain injury due to his sport. Sad, and further proof of the messed up things our brains do to us. He was 41. RIP Dave. From Wikipedia: Mirra was posthumously diagnosed withchronic traumatic encephalopathy(CTE). In addition to the "countless"concussions he suffered during his career, his skull was fractured when he was hit by a car at 19 years old and he took up boxing after retirement. He became the first action sports star to be diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease.[20] Edited May 28, 2016 by Era Might
CatherineM
Post concussion syndrome is a key reason why I'm taking classes with kids half my age. I'm frantically trying to keep my mind active to put off dementia as long as possible.
4588686
Nice guy. Met him once. It was sad that he was at a place where suicide seemed like the best option
