Luigi
I've mentioned this in Vocation Station, but it's really a general-public sort of topic. Two Dominican friars from the province of St. Martin de Porres (Southern US) are embarking on a walking journey from New Orleans to Memphis, preaching along the way. Era Might
Someone should start an order that does this full time, nothing but travel on foot all over.

I can't remember their name, but there's an italian order who doest that. Something like Poor brothers and sisters of Jesus and Mary. They are on the forum. The little brothers and sisters of the Lamb are dominican. Their foudnress wished to go back to the foundationnal principe of dominican life : begging and itinerance. Thus, while they have "little house", they beg for everything - food, clothes, books, and don't own a car, since they only travel on foot - asking people to sleep in their house. They are really great.

They don't exactly travel on foot (they hitchhike), but the Poor Friars are a bit like that. More here.

Cool, I like the before and after photos on their site. I like their habits too.
