EmmaElizabeth
I am trying to pick songs for my Nuptial Mass in October. There are three songs I really like, however they are only played at certain times of the year. Salve Regina usually seems to be during Advent/Christmas, Alma Redemptoris Mater is Advent until the Purification, February 2, and Ave Regina Coelorum from February 2 until Holy Thursday. Does anyone know if it would be fitting to have any of these at our wedding? Thanks so much!
Maggyie
I had Creator of the Stars of Night (which is an ancient hymn for Advent) and I got married in October. The Latin hymns especially I think are appropriate pretty much any time. Congratulations on your engagement!

Pia Jesu
Yes, congratulations, EmmaElizabeth! Composer John Rutter has some very beautiful songs ("All things bright and beautiful," "For the beauty of the earth" to name a few!)--that can be interspersed with Latin hymns. I once heard his "This is the day [that the Lord has made]" sung at a wedding. Listen to it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uEFL8WCTO8 Blessings! Nihil Obstat
We sing the Salve Regina year round. If you like that one, go for it.
DominicanHeart
Yeah Salve Regina is basically all year. And we have another one we do called Salve Regina Caelitum which is totally Latin but to the tune of Hail Holy Queen appropriately
