Poor Friars
"IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE? Could it be possible to live without possessing money in today's world?!.. What will I eat tomorrow?!. and what about the clothes I am to wear?!" With great admiration to anyone who tries to imitate Christ in Evangelical Poverty, I open this thread to answer anyone's question as to how the Little Friars and Little Nuns of Jesus and Mary (otherwise known as the Poor Friars www.poorfriars.net and the Poor Nuns www.poornuns.net) have been living for more than 15 years, renouncing material possessions and without ever accepting a cent. Do you have any questions as to how? Just ask here! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are a Religious Community of poor brothers and sisters with the charism of other than being semi contemplative (maintaining female cloistered life in a convent distinctly separate from that of the male's), is that of sending souls to the Catholic Sacraments, through frequent Evangelization along the streets of the world… In short words our charism, is parallel as both that of thefirst Carmelites and to that of the first Franciscans living in total poverty, simplicity and in a professional nature. We want to become Saints and to live 100% the Gospel in communion with our Holy Mother Catholic Church, all for the Salvation of the most number of souls and for the major Glory of God. Era Might
How do you make the break to live so radically? I noticed on your site you have before and after pictures. How do you make that decision to leave who you were and become someone new?
Poor Friars
Peace and Good "Era Might", Sorry it took so long to get back to you... we didn't see your reply until now. The first answer to your question usually is: Suffering. Suffering in the world that brings one to a point in their life to say: "it's either God or nothing".. and where one then prays intensely to receive signs and direction from the Lord. Here in the following attachments are some video witness of some of our members that may interest you. We hope to hear back from you if you have any more questions... Best wishes of Holiness, Fr. Antonio. http://nuke.poorfriars.net/tabid/612/Default.aspx
