I work with an apostolate that does child sponsorship  (primarily in Uganda) and we work with religious Sisters. The sisters approached us about the issue of not being able to educate all their Sisters. So we started a program to find families that will pay for the Sisters education. In Uganda I believe most Sisters have completed high school but many do not have college degrees. It is really amazing what we take for granted in the US and UK is something major for them.

My parish has a sister parish in Tanzania...they organize a mission trip there every couple years.

My parish is collecting funds for our youth ministry to go there this Summer
