Very interesting info indeed - thank you.

As for all the good men, bar one.  Who knows, on Judgement Day standing chatting with my family and friends, acquaintances, the angel might announce "And in this group are all good people, bar one".  My dear Dad (decd) used to rather often say "Life is long and full of pitfalls" and every time one of us five children started to gloat over our laurels in some way.

Regularly in the Divine Office, the final intercessory petition is a hope and request for the saving of all souls.  Here are two examples only:

Quote

5th Sunday of Lent

May the dying go forward in hope to meet Christ, their judge;
may they see your face and be happy for ever.

and another from Tuesday 5th Week of  Lent:

Bring the dead to everlasting happiness;
  let glory and immortal life be theirs.

Finally, there is that really beautiful prayer from Our Lady of Fatima which we traditionally pray after every decade of The Rosary: "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of Hell - AND BRING ALL SOULS TO HEAVEN ESPECIALLY THOSE MOST IN NEED OF YOUR MERCY" (I don't think Our Lady would have asked for a quite futile petitionary prayer)

 I hope you will return to Rome and see St Peter's tomb once more.

I'll vote for Bernie if he promises a free trip to Rome/Vatican City for all Americans. After all, many American citizens who weren't even Catholic have whereas I have not, and this inequality is unjust.

 From the apostles to Bernie

 That's a very big step down
