StMichael
When are you going to lift this unfair and silly ban on me. This has been over 5 months and you refuse to answer any emails or even provide due process with no warning or exactly what your issue is with a long standing member of this board. Ash Wednesday
Personally I vote against having to approve all content that phishy group members post. If someone posts something as repping Catholicism and it's bogus, there are plenty around to challenge and refute. Just my two clams.
MIKolbe
you should buy him beer. that seems to work.

It has nothing to do with that, unfortunately I can't search (that has been limited as well), but it came after an exchange whereby Pope Francis had said something (this was back in October 2015) that I can't recall. Dustin came at me asking if I supported the Pope and I stated I support the Church. Next time I logged in, was unable to post, lost access to PM's etc. and then given some badge of false judgement. No replies to emails. No accusations. Nothing. I can see this if I had signed up the day before and was trolling, but I have been on this board since early 2004. A this phishy badge really ticks me off, who is Dustin to judge who is Catholic and who is not?

A this phishy badge really ticks me off, who is Dustin to judge who is Catholic and who is not? Usually, when someone is assigned a phishy tag -- usually it's other posters who will flag it up to him, I don't think he goes around seeking people out. He doesn't really judge "who is a Catholic" per-se, it's more that as far as ALL group assignments go -- that is all ultimately strictly up to him as the website admin, so it goes for all groups (chummys, religious/clergy, scholars, militant, etc.) The "phishy" tag doesn't designate someone as "not Catholic" but rather as someone who identifies as Catholic but holds views that are questionable. I don't know what your particular circumstances are about this. But I do think anyone that is given the phishy tag is owed a very specific explanation on the matter. In some circumstances, this has happened due to misunderstandings and the tag has been removed, in others it's worth charitably explaining to someone why their view may be deemed "phishy" in hopes of correcting them. We will keep this thread going until we can resolve this matter. Hopefully @dUSt can help. It will just take some patience (or beer if you're in his area.) If I'm remembering correctly, you were sharply critical of Pope Francis. dUSt has always been pretty consistent in how he deals with criticism of the Holy Father. CatherineM
We get a lot of inquirers here and we don't need to give them the impression that bashing the Pope is okay.

Never sharply critical. Questioned the confusion caused by his statements and his break with centuries of tradition. So questioning Pope Francis' actions, is sharp criticism? franciscanheart
It may not be sharp criticism. But it's still dUSt's site and he still gets to decide who gets a phishy tag. In my understanding, it's been as @Ash Wednesday has already explained: to eliminate confusion for the young or unfamiliar. I hear he likes IPAs.
