My mom's friend adopted a boy years ago who came from a toxic environment. He's had behavior problems for years and is 16 1/2 now. He's been sent to a place for treatment for his issues, but she's being a helicopter mom and babying him. My mom has worked with kids with similar problems and she says that the kids whose parents act like her don't get better.
