And I am pleased that Sanders is getting hammered... I was starting to get concerned about how many Catholics seem to think that he could be a morally proper choice. Nihil Obstat
I wonder if Trump's appeal is due to a sort of conditioned response in 'conservatives' in the US that money/success = free market = objectively good. Basically, Trump is a businessman, therefore logically he must be a capitalist, therefore he is self-evidently right and conservatives must support him. Also, white working class who have been failed time and time again by the lackluster, intellectually bankrupt GOP

Basically, Trump is a businessman, therefore logically he must be a capitalist, therefore he is self-evidently right and conservatives must support him. I don't really think that Trump has much support among conservatives per say. In my humble opinion, a big faction of the GOP (especially among poorer or uneducated white voters) would vote Democrat except for racial politics. For various reasons the Dems are seen as pro-minority / anti-white (compared to the GOP). Although a lot of these folks benefit hugely from social welfare programs and might otherwise vote Democrat (as many did before the civil rights act) they break Republican because of the racial politics. The same is true for many African Americans who might break for the GOP except for that the party is perceived as racist. From my take on it much of Trumps support comes not from conservatives, but from that group of fairly liberal white voters who would vote Dem were it not for the race Q. That is why a guy who was literally a registered Democrat 5 years ago and supports things that conservatives hate like eminent domain can win a solid chunk of the GOP vote. Trump plays right into it by making anti-Latino immigration reform his main talking point. The GOP isn't necessarily conservative. Only a certain faction of it is. Nihil Obstat
I wonder if a Trump nomination and/or presidency might be the catalyst for a split in the GOP that could over time lead to a loosening of the two-party system in the US...?

Nihil Obstat
Maybe Trump wins the election, plunges the US and the rest of the world into WWIII, and England seizes its chance to reclaim those troublesome Colonies.

LOL. He won't beat Hillary. I still think he can be stopped from winning the nomination but it might take a brokered convention.
