Pictures of your Parish

Recommended Posts

If you feel comfortable doing so, please post pictures of the parish at which you normally hear Mass. Either your own pictures, or something from the parish website, etc.

Here is my parish today, Quadragesima Sunday, at around 2 pm, during the Pater Noster. I love seeing the pews nice and full, with plenty of families and young kids.

Cool! :) I'm not sure what is Quadragesima Sunday? I go to TLM too but for us it was just called first Sunday of Lent. Maybe I missed the other name. Is it the same thing?

Very nice! And I see a few pictures with Fr. Franco there. He is currently working with a priest who was with us for some time, Fr. McDonnell. Apparently they are watching Dr. Who together right now.

Same thing, basically. Quadragesima is referring to the sequence of Septuagesima, Sexagesima, Quinquagesima.

You may very well know my in-laws. I have been there several times. The footless mural is unmistakable. ;)

This is where I work: http://www.lourdesvan.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Lourdes-Panorama.jpg

This is where I go to Mass on Saturday nights: http://www.columbian.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/923969-Catholic-treasures8.jpg

This is the parish where I grew up (and still, technically, am a member of): http://stthomascamas.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/1540516_10152495415054942_1184606091_o.jpg

Since the pics are kind of big, I'll just leave them as links.

I quite like the second one.

Honestly, that mural is the one low point of the Church. I've had numerous discussions with Father about our shared distaste for it.

Yes, it is quite a beautiful church otherwise.

Me too.  It's our diocese's proto-cathedral, a mile or so down the street from my work parish. They use the communion rail and during pretty much any special feast day they use the high altar. The acoustics are pretty amesome as well. :)

My parish have nothing special - no splendid liturgy, no crows at the mass, nothing, but I love it for this. I'd never change of parish (I don't like "parish shopping")

The main church was built somewhere before 1098. It was extended in the XIIIth century, painted in the XVth century. Sadly, a german plane destroyed some painting, that had to be re-done. It's really beautifull. Sadly, a lot of church in my diocese have been built in the XIXth century - it's so ugly. I'm happy to live next to a prett church. It helps to pray.

What's wrong with the mural? I mean, Jesus kind of looks like he's making an evil face, but aside from that I don't see anything horribly wrong with it.
