DominicanHeart
Obviously a Consecrated Virgin can't get married or have sex, but could she adopt a baby and raise it as a mother?
CatherineM
It depends on the bishop where she has pledged herself. He might allow it. I've known a couple of priests who've adopted orphans.
Theoketos
Well, there was an important Virgin who was also a Mother, maybe the best Mother EVER. That being said, important rare exceptions aside, it would really be best if a child was adopted by a mother and father. Most state laws still require married couples be given this due consideration for the natural rights of children. (Caveat for the stupid redefinition of marriage the US has for now.)
