NadaTeTurbe
I have free time this morning, and I just learned that a friend gave birth to a lovely girl in a catholic maternity, so I thought I'll present the sisters that helped her during her pregnancy. The Little sisters of catholic maternity are a religious institute founded in 1930, in France, by Marie-Louise Lantelme. Her father wanted to open a maternity in his city, she wanted to become a religious sisters, their bishop found a solution : the foundation of this new congregation ! The little sisters are called to show to men what they are called to become in Christ. They have three apostolates : - to serve Catholic Maternity, by being midwife, but not only, by helping doctors, nurses, expecting mothers, etc... in their ethics decisions. Every time that a child is born in a catholic maternity, the bell rings three times, and then the parents are helped to consecrate their child to the Virgin Mary. - to help diocese in the "family pastoral" - to answer youth questions about unborns, pro-life, the sense of life, etc... "We offer our life to Life" Their motto is "To the Father, in Christ, by the Spirit, with Mary, mother of Jesus, Charity, Joy, and Peace" Their day begin with 45 minutes of prayer, Lauds, Mass, silent breakfeast. Then aposolate. There's a time of prayer at midday, followed by silent meal, a time of recreation, and the rosary. They have apostolate on afternoon, and each sister have 30 minutes of adoration during the afternoon. On the evening, they have vespers, meal with a spiritual reading, free time, and a time of prayers before going to sleep. They have a very special link with Saint John Paul II. His teachings are very important for those pro-life sisters. He recognized them as a pontifical institute. He chose Sister Marie-Luc as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life. (private audience for the 50th years of the institute) The 14th january of 2011, Pope Benedict XVI recognized the miraculous healing of Sister Marie-Simon-Pierre by the intercession of John Paul II as a miracle, wich allowed Pope Benedict to beatify him ! Sister Marie-Simon-PIerre had the same disease than John Paul the Great. all pictures come from : http://maternites-catholiques.cef.fr/1-accueil.html Edited February 3, 2016 by NadaTeTurbe
