Hello! It's been awhile since I've posted on here, but I always love checking in and reading everyone's posts! Some of you might remember that I was discerning with the Discalced Carmelites in St. Louis. Well, I'm so happy to share with y'all that I've been accepted for entrance as a postulant!! My entrance date is set for April 25th, the feast day of St. Mark the Evangelist. My dad's name was Mark, and he lost his battle with cancer on July 16th, 2014, the feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He was the first person I told when I started to seriously discern a religious vocation, so it will be extra special to enter Carmel on this feast day! :nun3:

Thank you so much for your prayers!! Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I prepare for this new journey, and I am praying for you all, as well! If you'd like to read more about the St. Louis Carmelites, here is an article that was written for their 150th anniversary! There is also a neat video that explains their contemplative life, and you can see the dear 93-year-old sister, who is just full of love, at the end of the video.

Dear Beccasmiles89,

I'm just now realizing that you're down to your last month "out in the world".  Please know that you're in my thoughts & prayers during these days.  May God bless you as you continue your discernment journey.

Today is the Feast of the Annunciation. Praying to Our Lady that she gives you the grace to pursue your Fiat.

Happy Entrance Day,  beccasmiles89! (I'm anticipating by 15 minutes, because I'm headed to be!)

Prayers to St. Mark (my family had an extensive history in St. Mark's Parish back in the old days) for you as you enter the second oldest Carmel in the States!

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord!
