Lil Red
It does boil down to it being that simple. It's not that difficult really. And if you do feel like whining about it, at least do it in private like I do
22!
dUSt
I may have deleted all that stuff you're talking about Morph. You see, when I see something that needs to be edited, I just delete the whole post. It's easier that way. Why should I be inconvenienced? It's a sad reality that phatmass has lost many really awesome Catholics because of my decision to limit uncharitable behavior from those who represent the Church. Katholikos and Don John are probably the two that stand out the most. I am deeply regretfull that they've decided to post less frequently here because of that. I admire them both very much, and pray that they will post here more often... There may have been others who've left for the same reason. I don't know. If they have, I wouldn't know, because nobody has ever come to me privately regarding the rules being too strict. So, what can I do? Who knows. Who cares. All I know is that I'm trying to be a warrior for Christ and His Church. Most times, failing miserably, but every once in awhile, getting some positive feedback that motivates me to keep on going. MorphRC
The first person to get totally banned was "Sacerdotus" who claimed to be a Seminarian. MorphRC, If you can't figure out how to post without getting edited, then don't post. I'm actually tired of seeing you whine about it.
Jas.. Hmm cant say that, might get banned..no not that either, might get edited. Maybe...noooo that wouldnt do either. Heres some advice that was inspired by you:) If you dont like seeing it, dont come to this thread, then you wont see it, and then you wont be whining Edited June 25, 2004 by MorphRC
Kilroy the Ninja
um, dUSt, I'm pretty sure Don John hasn't been posting because he's been teaching summer school. Tomorrow (Friday, the 25th) is his last day there, then he'll be online more often. Although he is having to re-think how he says some stuff... we'll just see how he handles things. You know he's a pretty passionate guy about the Church.
crusader1234
Morph, just thought I'd point out that he wasn't whining he was telling you to quit whining and learn how to conform to the guidelines (which aren't by any means unreasonable). I personally like to hear what jas has to say, even when I don't agree with it becuase he does it (usually) in a respectful and knowledgable way. And like he said, if you can't figure out how to post within the guidelines, there is always the little x in the upper right hand corner of the screen. BeenaBobba
Keep up the good work, dUSt. Recently, I've been to a forum where I was cussed at and personally attacked (verbally) by some members (one of whom owns the forum). I'm so grateful that phatmass isn't anything like that. I think the rules here are pretty darn reasonable. God bless, Jen

His style takes some getting used to for some people but very rarely do I disagree with what he says. There's all different approaches here from the DJ and Winchester and Ironmonks, to jasJis and Cmom, to Azzie and Flowery. If we all had the same approach this place would be booooring. Beena, jas, and Crusader (and any others I missed), thanks for your support and for sticking to the guidelines, we mods really appreciate it. Quietfire
Funny thing. As I was reading this entire thread again I got to thinking... Isnt this how the Protestant faith started? Go back and read this thread again, and see what I mean. Someone wasnt getting their way, started complaining and BAM. Protestant. Wierd. Peace. Mary's Knight, La
I have always appreciated Don John's blunt approach. His style takes some getting used to for some people but very rarely do I disagree with what he says.
i just wanted to second that. it's been a while since i've read a post by him but i certainly appreciate anyone who'll put church teaching out there plain and simple. Bluntness may not look pretty or make you feel good, but it's easiest to understand. it's one thing to kick a person just to cause pain but i can't find fault with occasionally nudging a person in the right direction with your foot.
There's all different approaches here from the DJ and Winchester and Ironmonks, to jasJis and Cmom, to Azzie and Flowery. If we all had the same approach this place would be booooring.
this is the other half of it, is that if DJ or Ironmonk approach is offensive to someone there are others who will cushion the blow a little better. both hard and soft approaches are necessary soft because somepeople will respond better approached softly, other respond better to being knocked sharply on the head. I look forward to Don John's posting more... I can handle reading what he types if you can't well all the posts begin with the poster's name just scroll on to the next name. though in fairness it'd be good to let him know you're not going to respond because you don't feel he's approaching you out of love. I admire him and miss him stirring things (and me) up. DJ and I have had our arguments, and I've had to aplogize more often then him, but at least we cool off enough to be respectful, and are passionate enough not to whine. I think dUSt does an stupendous job and most here don't appreciate how much flak he gets from everybody when he cares about this place and making it the best he can for the majority of the people here by being the best Christian witness he can be. Thanks dUSt. (you owe me tacos, so very tasty and good for you, now)
Kilroy the Ninja
Gosh, all of this is going to make Don John feel all warm and fuzzy inside when he reads it.... well, ok, maybe not warm and fuzzy. But it'll probably all go to his head, so lay off I gotta live with the guy!!! j/k

Anna
Wow. Reading through this thread, it feels like a reunion. I find myself in total agreement with jasJis, Jake, QuietFire, pretty much with Random Proddy...As always completely with LittleFlower.... MorphRC, I've read all the posts now. I've seen both sides of this situation. (I do love that papal quote, and hope to save and use it.) However, I have decided (and hereby rule, heh heh) that you are wrong in claiming that you've been wronged. No harm has been done to you, except perhaps to bruise your ego, which hopefully will heal soon. (At least, may the swelling go down.) The mods acted justly and according to the guidelines of the phorum. Try to accept this in the love and humility with which it's being offered. Try an Act of Contrition, whether you consider yourself Catholic or not, it is still efficacious. Then, I recommend you declare a truce. Pax Christi. <>< Edited June 26, 2004 by Anna
