Cam42
"Those who believe in God no proof is necessary; those who don't believe in God no explanation is possible." Discuss.
Anomaly
That's just another "banal truism". So is: "It's not a lie if you believe it."
Papist
I believe in God. If there was not proof, I would not.
Anomaly
If God was prove-able, it wouldn't be called "Faith". Faith: 2(b) "firm belief in something in which there is no proof."
MarysLittleFlower
The virtue of faith is necessary for things that have been supernaturally believed. Some things like God's existence can be reached by reason but others are above reason, though not against it. A person would still need the grace of faith to be a Christian, not because there's 0 evidence for it but because certain things are above our nature
Seven77
Having the possibility of doubting makes the free will choice of making an act of faith possible, and meritorious, and I think that's why God usually “remains hidden.”Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. For those who believe, they believe without having any kind proof… no explanation or necessary--- having faith in a sense requires not having proof ( by which we mean being able to quantify God) in the 1st place. Those who do not believe are looking for some kind of proof that ultimately cannot be provided for them, and nothing satisfies them anyway--- were talking about those who in are obstinate in their unbelief––For them, no explanation Is possible.
