Why the Protestants dislike the Virgin Mary so much. Actually I know why, it's cuz it's too Catholic.

Jesus had the Virgin Mary's blood in Him. When He sweat blood in the garden and asked His Father to take this cup from Him [due to all the lukewarm believers] it was Mother Mary's blood. The scourging at the pillar, her blood that splattered. Crown of thorns, the piercing in the side during His crucifixion, all her blood!

Hating Mother Mary is hating a BIG part of Jesus!

The Protestants I know don't "hate" Mary. But they do think she's kind of like a detour on the way to God. The comments I've heard from them are along the lines of, "Just pray straight to God, not to his mother."

When I was Protestant I'm sad to say I felt a dislike for Our Blessed Mother :( I thought she was placed equal to God in the Church. But the strange thing is when I began looking into the Church I had negative feelings towards her. I eventually prayed to God for devotion to Mary and thanks to His grace later consecrated myself to her. I'm not saying other Protestants are all like that but largely Our Lady is ignored. That's true what you say about the Precious Blood.. And Mary suffered so much in the Passion and joined her suffering to Jesus. Its an insult to ignore and reject that.

Not A Real Name

I used to have similar issues with Mary.  Why do I have to go to her? Why cant I just go to Christ? and on and on and on, until I just accepted that Mary was a stumbling block to my pride.  There is a difference between what God can do and what God willed to do.  The blood spilt during His circumcision could have paid the debt of sin for countless worlds an yet He willed to shed it all on the Cross.  God could have manifested Himself with a human nature from nothing, but He willed to be born of the Virgin Mary, and the be raised by her.  He was submissive to her, and so what is there to lose by doing the same as my Lord and Savior? Is the servant (me), above his Master (Christ)? I think not.

Honoring the Mother of Christ, and my Mother since she is the new Eve, can do nothing but strengthen my relationship with her Son, Jesus.

This is off-topic, but may I ask what you mean when you say Jesus asked for this cup to be taken away because of lukewarm believers? Where did you learn that?

Yeah, never thought of that being the reason, I always thought the most common explanation was Christ showing His humanity.

In some spiritual books there are explanations of what caused Our Lord the intense suffering in the Garden when He asked for the cup to be taken away. It seems there were several things because it was permitted for Him to experience His human nature more. But more than anything it seems He suffered seeing the future ingratitude of men - which could be refusal of Him and also lukewarmness. Ingratitude and indifference hurts Our Lord more than many sins according to some revelations... Also seeing the suffering of His friends.

From the Dolorous Passion by Bl Anne Catherine Emmerich... Sorry about the formatting!

"At first Jesus looked calm, as he kneeled down and  prayed, but after a time his soul became terrified at the sight of the innumerable crimes of men, and of their ingratitude towards God, and his anguish was so great that he trembled and shuddered as he exclaimed: ‘Father, if is possible, let this chalice pass from me! Father, all things are possible to thee, remove this chalice from me!" But the next moment he added: ‘Nevertheless, not my will but thine be done.’ His will and that of his Father were one, but now that his love had ordained that he should be left to all the weakness of his human nature, he trembled at the prospect of death."

You'd find that idea in the writings of the mystics. It seems like His greatest mental suffering was seeing the response of people to the Passion He was about to undergo.

I think the reason seeing lukewarm souls made Jesus suffer is because they know of His love and just don't care. That is even more hurtful than someone who is an enemy and is far from the Church. They waste the graces given to them and there's something frightening about indifference when seeing the reality about God.

It is in Saint Faustina's diary as well as the Divine Mercy Novena.

Ninth Day
"Today bring to Me the Souls who have become Lukewarm,

and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: 'Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.' For them, the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy."

Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love, let these tepid souls who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.

When a woman conceives, the baby shares both the man's blood and woman's blood.  In this case, the Holy Spirit has no blood, only the Virgin Mary does.  Mary's blood and Mary's blood alone, is in Jesus.
