Thijs
Now, to address their shrinking numbers and ensure their prayers continue for another century, the Roman Catholic Holy Spirit Adoration sisters have begun quietly reaching out, seeking to grow the order while carefully maintaining their secluded life. In relation to other Pink Sisters posts. Mary Catherine
Yes, that's true. They have very beautiful life, but vocation is from God. God calls. The harvest are great, but the laborers are few. We should pray!
IgnatiusofLoyola
I confess I know almost nothing about the Pink Sisters, except for the fact they are cloistered. However, I confess that if I were ever tempted to join an order because of the habit, it would be the Pink Sisters. I am someone whose mood is very affected by color, and for me, the color pink, especially the shade the Pink Sisters wear, brightens my mood every time I see it. I think it would make me happy to put on a pink habit every morning. (And yes, I know that these Sisters wear a grey habit outside the monastery. I kind of like that idea, too.) I would find black or brown habits very difficult. I've gone on record here that one of many (and most shallow) reasons I know I'm not a Carmelite is that I not only look terrible in brown, but it makes me depressed. I don't think I own a single item of brown clothing. In fact, nothing in my house is brown except for wood furniture (which I love--I've never claimed to be consistent). Before someone writes that if I were called to be a Carmelite or Franciscan, etc., I would just need to offer up my dislike of brown. In fact, my dislike of brown might make wearing a brown habit even more meaningful. Yes, I know this. However, someone in this joint needs to admit to their secular nature, even if it is a weakness. DominicanHeart
I agree I would join solely for the pink habit if that's what it was about but of course that's not what makes a Vocation. But I absolutely love the Charism of the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters. I went to their chapel in Philly. It's so peaceful. I'm praying about it. Nothing more beautiful than a life of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament!
