Frohe Weihnachten!

I celebrated this Christmas by going to my very first Midnight Mass. A fine Liturgy to top off a nice day.

Merry Christmas to all.  I was fortunate to go to midnight Mass at St Peter's in Rome.  Two days later, we were walking by St Peter's and we saw police with the wand type metal detectors.  So we got in line.  A Cardinal had died, so we were at his funeral.  There were hardly any people there and Pope John Paul II walked right by us.  It was very exciting.

My church puts up candle-abras for Midnight Mass.  These pictures doesn't come close to being there, though.kansas_city_12-28-2012.htm

Word of advice:

Don't beat Half-Life 2 for the first time on Christmas morning.

May the rest of your Christmas be merry.

Funny, and you're close to the truth.  I have one XBOX 360 game, "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warrior 2".  The multiplayer game play, for me, can't be topped.  I hope your Christmas is merry as well.

I can say that Half-Life 2 in every technical aspect may be the most riveting game I've ever played, but the ending made me realize an underlying theme in the story that's more disturbing than the game's unflinching brutality.

I did that one on the PC and really enjoyed it.  I got rid of most of my PC games.  I kept a few for sentimental reasons, like XCOM, HOMEWORLD, SYSTEM SHOCK, M1 TANK PLATOON, WWII FIGHTERS, AND COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2.

The one and only thing I wish was different on that game was the aiming system. IIRC it came out just before FPS games introduced the iron sighting mechanic. To me that's a very important element for immersion in a shooter, and if they were to update HL2 that is what I would really want most of all. Story is incredible, game play is in-depth. Ravensholme was some of the most fun I have ever had playing a video game.

I don't even play FPS games, so the chances of me playing Half Life 2 on Christmas are quite nil. My friend did get me Final Fantasy III DS though.

Seems like a gift you'd get.
