When Does Truth Become Ugly?

If a charismatic person has a positive influence on a large number of people, isn't that persons fall from grace even more devastating?  Would it not be more charitable, especially at Christmas, to worry more about those that may have lost their faith as a result?  Wouldn't it be more appropriate to pray for the poor souls who now, might find it hard to regain the spiritual ground they have lost?  May God give us the grace we need to fight the good fight and finish the race.
