any political/social/economic system can be used to cause spiritual and physical harm to people however capitalism seems to offer the most opportunity for correction of errors made e.g. consumers can rebel and put a company out of business *if* enough choose to at the same time i don't see how communism offers that opportunity though i support communism in it's ideal form (e.g. the form in my mind)

Least anyone misinterpret what you say here, pure communism is found in a Catholic religious order!

And that is, of course, the "ideal form!" :)

BTW, Louisiana? Have a daughter who lives in Covington, LA. St. Peter's parish, a very active parish with some real serious Catholics there! :)

God bless,

Yes and whats the average murder rate in the US? oh about 1 person every 3 minutes or so..whys that? ohh any moron can have a gun. Here no guns, no weapons at all. Murders a day? .65. In a week, at worst. 4-6.

Yes..Guffaw..whatever the heck that means.

Dude, get you facts straight. The US has more people, so of course we would have more murders. You want to compare the murders per capita. Yes, the US has a higher rate, but it's not just because we have guns. We have guns because of the history of the Country. We weren't created in a remote back-water continent with imported prisoners who weren't allowed to have sharp sticks, much less reall arms.

No comment aside from thats kind of ethnocentric to call Australia back water and remote - both continents had people there long before Britain came along - Aboriginals. Gimme a break, everything as far as Geography goes is relative, and heck, who doesnt want Ocean all around you and nice climatic conditions?

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

A knife, brick, or poison will kill somebody just as dead as a gun. Also, your conclusion is purely ancedotal. Provide some statistical evidence. I'll give you some help. Search for 'per-capita murder rate'. You'll see the US is ranked 24th with .04 per 1,000. Analyze the top 35 countries and provide gun laws for each country. Provide the murder rates that are done with a gun versus those committed without a gun. Provide a chart with the percentage of murders committed with a gun and corelate the data with the type of gun laws for the Country. Additionally, to compensate for socio/cultural variances, provide statistics for murders commited by strangers in the commission of a crime and compare with murders commited by a known person that is an act of passion, such as a fight, infedelity, etc. All you've done is provide superficial, knee-jerk opinion, without factual merit and easily refuted with the application of logic and reason.

yiannii,
what do you mean that the US seems 'gun happy'?
