NovemberFourth
Hi all, I have a strong devotion to our Lord in his agony at Gethsemane. I have often googled but have never found an Order or Congregation with a similar devotion. Has anyone else encountered one? Thanks in advance
Sponsa-Christi
Maybe you could look into the Passionists?
NovemberFourth
I am too old for the Passionists. Unfortunately. By the way has Only Sunshine moved the belated vocations site?
Immanuel
I was wondering the same thing. I haven't been able to find it
Luigi
I would guess the Trappists of Gethsemane Abbey in Kentucky would have an interest.
Nunsuch
I also was going to suggest the Trappists of Gethsemane Abbey. It is an amazing place, and there are many books you can look at about it, including of course the many writings of Thomas Merton! But there are more recent books and a wonderful photo collection. I have visited and attended liturgy there, and it is amazing.
Graciela
Perhaps the Sister Adorers of the Precious Blood, if you are seeking a contemplative community. Precious Blood spirituality includes the agony in the garden, I think.

Nunsuch
There are also several active Precious Blood communities, especially the international Adorers of the Blood of Christ.
MarysLittleFlower
the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood have a spirituality of consoling Jesus for His suffering which is definitely related to His agony in Gethsemane.. also I think the Daughters of Mary (it's a fairly new community) have a spirituality of consoling Jesus in the Eucharist. Their age limit is also a bit more than 35. I'm sorry I don't know of other ones, maybe they're out there!
NadaTeTurbe
The sisters of our Lady of sorrows may interest you. They have a spirituality centered around Jesus crucified. http://www.ols.org/charism/our-spirituality/christ-crucified/
DominicanHeart
That's a shame I was going to say the Passionists as well. I'm looking into discerning with them.
Sister Leticia
November - when you say Passionists do you mean the Cross & Passion sisters, founded in Manchester in the 19th century? I could be wrong, but I think they had a postulant who was about 50 a few years ago (and I've seen elsewhere that you're 51). If they do have an upper age limit please let us know what it is - I wouldn't want to direct an older discerner to them by mistake.

I think she means the Passionist nuns, who are contemplative and monastic. They used to have one monastery in England, but I don't think it exists any more. The Sisters of the Cross and Passion would be good for anyone who is drawn to Passionist spirituality as lived out in an apostolic community. MarysLittleFlower
The Passionists were started by St Paul of the Cross... I think that's a different order than the Cross and Passion Sisters Edited December 16, 2015 by MarysLittleFlower
