I don't think we really fully understand the basic nature of the Trinity. Tis a mystery to us. It is tough for us to fathom 1 single being that has 3 persons because nothing like that exists here on earth. Right?

Yes, it is a mystery. Negative. The family best resembles the Holy Trinty.  In a truly Christian patriarchal family the husband (Father) and the wife (Son), and the children (Holy Spirit). One Family, three unique persons all equal in nature.  Thats a key point though. Equal in nature does not mean equal in responsibilities.  As the Father is greater than the Son in the order of procession, so is the Husband greater than the wife.  Not because his nature is greater, but because his responsibilities are greater. The children proceed from the love of the husband and wife.

There are several Syriac Fathers (I believe) who write about the Holy Spirit as a maternal presence. I believe Maximilian Kolbe draws upon some of this in his mariological writings.

A lot of Syriac Christians refer to the Holy Spirit as feminine, and you especially see this in the Syriac Orthodox Church
