Sponsa-Christi
Sorry, Nada! My first thought upon trying real Turkish delight for the first time around age twenty was: "That must have been SOME enchantment! What was Edmund thinking???" Americans tend to enjoy Turkish delight just as much as Europeans enjoy peanut butter with chocolate.
xSilverPhinx
I tried Turkish Delight once. It wasn't the best but it wasn't awful either.
marigold
I didn't like it until I had the Greek stuff. It's smaller pieces, very light and soft and almost melty? Before that, I'd only had those hard, dry, rubbery things you get in shiny boxes at English Christmases. Actual Narnia Turkish delight. Blegh! Ice_nine
I remember we made some when we read the book in school. I liked it because I was like 12 and the stuff is 95% sugar.
HopefulHeart
Very interesting article! I've never eaten Turkish delight, but, honestly, it doesn't look like something I would enjoy. I'm still open to trying it, though. The article also got me thinking about what I imagined Turkish delight to be like when I first read the Narnia books. I definitely imagined it as a sweet, but I envisioned it as more solid rather than gooey.
Era Might
Never had it, but sounds like the British equivalent of S'mores.
NadaTeTurbe
Sponsa Christi : Fair. I tried to like it, but I just can't like peanut butter ! My mom bring me loukoums when she goes to Tunisia.

It's like square blocks of gummy bear dredged in confectioner's sugar. Rosewater flavour is best.
