I think it's because we don't really imagine/realize that we have real other people, with real flesh and feeling. We tend to see them as people who are just here to accept our ideas... I'm very stubborn, and IRL I sometimes not really listen to people because I want them to hear MY ideas, MY opinion. I realized it at my Confirmation, and now I'm trying to work on it. It's worse on the internet  Now, I wrote something, read a book, and then I read again my post, asking myself "is my post reflecting the gifts of the Holy Spirit that I received at my Confirmation ?"
