We us "Christian Prayer" for the Liturgy of the Hours. However, in the 30 years since it was last edited, there have been a number of changes, mostly due to newly canonized saints or transfer of feast days.

I had seen a little booklet which has the prayers, etc. for these recent additions but was wondering if anyone knew of any source online for these prayers or knew of an affordable place to purchase this booklet (I do not even know what the title was.)

Thank you.

The Saint Joseph Guide for Christian Prayer is new every year, and as far as I'm aware is pretty much up-to-date with all of the newly canonized saints. You can get it at amazon or Barnes and Noble for pretty cheap. http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Christian-Prayer-Catholic-Publishing/dp/1941243134/ref=pd_cp_14_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1GCF789DX02K3QAN9WE3

Or rather, it directs you to prayers that can be used for any saint in various categories, i.e. martyrs, virgins, Doctors of the Church, etc. That might not be what you're talking about though. Can you tell us anything else about it? What it looked like maybe? Sorry if I was totally unhelpful, Sister

We have that guide, I believe, but it refers to pages in a little supplemental book that we do not have.

I found a website that has some of them and am working on compiling a little booklet we can use.

Thanks.

Really? The one I have has it all in the book. It's the 1976 edition with the music. Does it refer to another booklet specifically or is it in parenthesis when referring to a memorial?

Well I guess it doesn't matter since you found an alternative to finding the original booklet. I think what you're doing sounds like a good idea and I hope you get all of the "missing" memorials! Hopefully it won't be too time-consuming for you :)

Something from the 70s is not helpful since I am referring to changes made since our books were printed in the 80s. Our books have the prayers for the memorials in them, just not those that were added more recently.

Oh, I see now. I apologize I could not be more helpful, but I wish you well in compiling your new booklet! Such a project sounds quite fun.

God bless you Sister!

So far, I have the following.  Does anyone think of any new saints days I'm missing?

January 3 ~ The Most Holy Name of Jesus
Almighty ever-living God, who were pleased to shine forth with new light through the coming of your Only Begotten Son, grant, we pray, that, just as he was pleased to share our bodily form through the childbearing of the Virgin Mary, so we, too, may one day merit to become companions in his kingdom of grace. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. — Amen.

January 6 ~ St. Andre Bessette
Lord our God, friend of the lowly,
who gave your servant, Saint André Bessette,
a great devotion to Saint Joseph
and a special commitment to the poor and afflicted, help us through his intercession
to follow his example of prayer and love
and so come to share with him in your glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

March 3 ~ St. Katherine Drexel
Ever loving God, you called Saint Katharine Drexel to teach the message of the Gospel and to bring the life of the Eucharist to the Black and Native American peoples. By her prayers and example, enable us to work for justice among the poor and oppressed. Draw us all into the Eucharistic community of your Church, that we may be one in you. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

April 28 ~ St. Louis de Montfort
O God, who willed to direct the steps of the Priest Saint Louis along the way of salvation and of the love of Christ, in the company of the Blessed Virgin, grant us, by his example, that, meditating on the mysteries of your love, we may strive tirelessly for the building up of your Church. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

May 13 ~ Our Lady of Fatima
God our Father, you give joy to the world by the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through the prayers of his mother, the Virgin Mary,
bring us to the happiness of eternal life.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

May 22 ~ St. Rita of Cascia
Bestow on us, we pray, O Lord, the wisdom and strength of the Cross, with which you were pleased to endow Saint Rita, so that, suffering in every tribulation with Christ, we may participate ever more deeply in his Paschal Mystery. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

June 3 ~ Saints Charles Lwanga and his Companions
O God, who have made the blood of Martyrs the seed of Christians, mercifully grant that the field which is your Church, watered by the blood shed by Saint Charles Lwanga and his companions, may be fertile and always yield you an abundant harvest. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. — Amen
July 1 ~ St. Junípero Serra, Priest
God most high,
your servant Junipero Serra
brought the gospel of Christ
to the peoples of Mexico and California
and firmly established the Church among them.
By his intercession,
and through the example of his evangelical zeal,
inspire us to be faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

July 14 ~ St. Kateri Tekakwitha
O God, who desired the Virgin St. Kateri Tekakwitha to flower among Native Americans in a life of innocence, grant, through her intercession, that when all are gathered into your Church from every nation, tribe and tongue, they may magnify you in a single canticle of praise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Aug 12 ~ Saint Jane Frances de Chantal, Religious
Lord,
you chose Saint Jane Frances to serve you
both in marriage and in religious life.
By her prayers
help us to be faithful in our vocation
and always to be the light of the world.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Aug 14 ~ Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Priest, Martyr
O God,
who filled the Priest and Martyr Saint Maximilian Kolbe
with a burning love for the Immaculate Virgin Mary
and with zeal for souls and love of neighbor,
graciously grant, through his intercession,
that striving for your glory by eagerly serving others,
we may be conformed, even until death, to your Son.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Sept 12 ~ Holy Name of Mary
Lord our God,
when your Son was dying on the altar of the cross,
he gave us as our mother
the one he had chosen to be his own mother,
the Blessed Virgin Mary;
grant that we who call upon the holy name of Mary, our mother, with confidence in her protection
may receive strength and comfort in all our needs.
We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

October 11 - Saint John the Twenty-third
O almighty and eternal God,
who throughout all the world made in blessed Pope John
a living radiant example of Christ the Good Shepherd,
grant us, we ask, that through his intercession,
we may be enabled to pour out an abundance of Christian charity.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.)

October 12 - Saint John Paul the Second
O God, who are rich in mercy
and who willed that Saint John Paul the Second
should preside as Pope over your universal Church,
grant, we pray, that instructed by his teaching,
we may open our hearts to the saving grace of Christ,
the sole Redeemer of mankind.  Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Nov 24 ~ Saints Andrew Dũng-Lạc and his Companions
O God, source and origin of all fatherhood, who kept the Martyrs Saint Andrew Dung-Lac and his companions faithful to the Cross of your Son, even to the shedding of their blood, grant through their intercession, that, spreading your love among our brothers and sisters, we may be your children both in name and in truth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. — Amen.

Nov 25 ~ Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin, Martyr
Father all-powerful, your gifts of love are countless and your goodness infinite; as we come before you on Thanksgiving Day with gratitude for your kindness, open our hearts to have concern for every man, woman, and child, so that we may share your gifts in loving service. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dec 9 ~ Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin
O God, Father of mercies, who placed your people under the singular protection of your Son’s most holy Mother, grant that all who invoke the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe, may seek with ever more lively faith the progress of peoples in the ways of justice and of peace. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. — Amen
