Pia Jesu
Dealing with some anxiety issues...I've been drawn to the Eastern Prayer of the Heart--or what we call "The Jesus Prayer." Saying "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me..." (as a type of breath-prayer) is the only way I can fall asleep at night. And like Nihil's story, I find that spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament to be a transformative experience--even if all I can utter is "Jesus." I believe it was St. John of the Cross who said that "what we need most to make progress [in this life] is to be silent before this great God..and that the language He hears best is silent love." There is a wonderful Prayerscape video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EOUa3tWbcg Hope the link works!
Cam42
As the Church taught us through the public prayer she has sanctioned....The Divine Office and Holy Mass. I also pray the rosary daily and I engage in several private devotions, most notably to Our Lady of Perpetual Help (a Perpetual Novena), through DeMontfort's True Devotion to Mary, and a very strong devotion to the Miraculous Medal.
