Guest
Right now they have the cool evolution logo becuase the 41st year anniversary of Lucy. I guess some Christians are mad. Why are Christians always mad? Is it because Jesus told us to be "salty" Get it? Edited November 24, 2015 by Guest
dominicansoul
Lucy is a riddle to me, seeing that the knee bones were found almost 2 miles away from the rest of the few bones that make up Lucy. To me, they may not even belong to her... I don't know, I'm not a scientist, but to me that seems a little sketchy... I also wonder why the real bones are kept locked away, while we are led to believe all the molds and replicas of her are authentic to the findings... consider me a skeptic... No, some Christians are mad because they believe in a literal Bible, a literal creation and absolutely no evolution. Many also believe in a "young Earth"--that the Earth is only 6,000 years old. They are mad because they see this as false propaganda....when i think they are really mad because it proves that there's much more mystery to creation than a literal 7 days of 24 hours event with Adam and Eve. 1 hour ago, dominicansoul said: Lucy is a riddle to me, seeing that the knee bones were found almost 2 miles away from the rest of the few bones that make up Lucy. Well, considering predation, 2 miles isn't all that ridiculous, especially, and this sounds sick for a "meaty" lower limb. There are some problematic issues with the scientists who have control of the actual bones, but the reason replicas are used is because it's a way for many museums to profit off of hosting the bones. I know that an art museum in my area did an entire show of 3D rendered "perfect" copies of busts of famous composers made in the 1800's and when asked the general public didn't care that they weren't the "real" ones because they got to see them. Makarioi
Is there anything in our teachings about evolving from an ape? If we are made in His image and likeness, are you saying that He or Adam and Eve was an ape? I don't think Christians are mad as it's the 'job' of Science to instill doubt in any religious teaching, just listen to History Channel. Call me a literal. There's nothing to say that there weren't animal like creatures before Adam, and that God "evolved" the form of a human from an earlier model. Again you're quoting the TV, king of all fear mongering. You do realize that all of the first scientists were deeply religious people, weather it be in the West, with the christian/Catholics or in the East with those in Eastern religions? It's only been in the past 50 years that Science and religion have truly been in conflict and not the pseudo-Gallelao conflict that everyone sites. Catholics are not required to believe in a literal 7 day creation
