Increasing Traffic

Is there ways to advertise? Where pop up links direct traffic here?

I think a good way to advertise would be in catechism curriculum for young adults.  Perhaps we can make a deal with one of them?

Traffic is not the problem. What you probably want is more participation. We could create an ad that sends a million people here, but if we don't have interesting threads and amesome conversations, nobody will stay. Content is king.

This is absolutely true. Perhaps loosening the strings and opening the windows a bit might help, sure it can be windy outside and you don't know what you might get in but sometimes openness allows things to foster. Banning, editing, censoring, in the long run this doesn't work. Lassez faire my friend. Look at Reddit

Conversations devolve too quickly. It's intimidating to newbies.  I don't think so Bro Adam or Mulls would visit or post much any more if they were visiting now as protttys..  Like it or not, your posts and responses greatly influence others that post here, consciously and subconsciously.  You should post more with that thought in mind.

Na just traffic really. As long as people are coming here and browsing threads that's good. I see what you're saying about content. Good points. People participating is desired at the end of the day.

Is this aka for bashing Pope Francis like the best Catholics of all time do on my Facebook feed all the time? I can hardly differentiate them from the anticatholics in my news feed. No thanks.

What's intimidating? lol You're behind a computer screen typing anonymously on the internet. I do see what you're saying about being aware of what you post and how it can influence others.

What you need to do is clone me so that content quality will soar.

I'm going to have to agree here. I lurk often, but I don't post often, largely because the content often seems a little fluffy and not the sort of thing that could generate a hard-hitting conversation. I often wonder about any more content I could generate myself, but then worry that I might come across as too critical of the pope or of certain prelates, which might run afoul of moderation. So I'm often left in the dark as to how to proceed, short of waiting for compelling content and then adding my voice to the conversation, at least until it reaches an impasse. Many of the forums used to have the byline "no debating" attached, and I wasn't quite sure what that meant. If I disagree, am I not to express it? If there's a point I want to clarify or ask for a clarification about, do I just leave it aside?

Perhaps a bit more clarification about what sorts of content in each forum are desired or acceptable would allow for some more interesting discussions in which more members could become involved.

I guess I use Phatmass for what more technologically sophisticated people use Facebook and Twitter for...to discuss and argue about stuff that interests me. Probably uninteresting for people looking for a Catholicism phorum. People like me should post rarely, if ever. Let the phorum be Catholic, though that assumes there is a demand for apologetics, spiritual discussion, etc.
