josephine
Hostage situation going in Bamako, Mali. 170 people were in a hotel, there were 2 conferences going on. So far no one has claimed this attack. The hostage takers entered the terrain of the Hotel by using cars with a diplomatic plate. A couple of people escaped, and a couple were let go by the attackers (apparently because they could recite certain koran verses). The Malian (?) army is trying a rescue situation right now. NadaTeTurbe
I don't know if you can read it ? http://foreignpolicy.com/2015/11/03/africas-softer-gentler-coups-detat/?wp_login_redirect=0 We could destroy ISIS, if Turkey helped us : http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/nov/18/turkey-cut-islamic-state-supply-lines-erdogan-isis The exact relationship between Erdoğan’s government and Isis may be subject to debate; but of some things we can be relatively certain. Had Turkey placed the same kind of absolute blockade on Isis territories as they did on Kurdish-held parts of Syria, let alone shown the same sort of “benign neglect” towards the PKK and YPG that they have been offering to Isis, that blood-stained “caliphate” would long since have collapsed – and arguably, the Paris attacks may never have happened. And if Turkey were to do the same today, Isis would probably collapse in a matter of months. Yet, has a single western leader called on Erdoğan to do this? Venezuela said no to socialist dictature !! http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-35019111 The opposition in Venezuela has won a majority of seats in the National Assembly, overturning nearly two decades of dominance by the Socialists of President Nicolas Maduro. It is the first time in 16 years that the PSUV is not in control in Congress - a serious blow to its socialist revolution At 74.3%, voter participation was high, suggesting a sizeable proportion of the population backed change The opposition will pose a serious challenge to the government's power to pass legislation Jailed opposition leaders could be released if the opposition makes good on its promise to pass an amnesty law It is another blow to left-wing policies in Latin America, coming two weeks after a centre-right candidate won in Argentina's presidential poll Same in Argentina. Now we hope for justice for nisman http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/27/opinion/argentinas-transformative-election.html http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/07/20/death-of-a-prosecutor It's about the Nisman case, but it's a little long
