justfran
Am I excused from all fasting if my parents don't let me do it? Their idea of being thankful is to eat what you're given and not let any of it go to waste, rather than abstaining. Pio Nono
JMJ 6/17 - Eleventh Thursday justfran, Good question; instead of not fasting, perhaps you could look for other ways to fast. For instance, you want to fast but your parents won't let you - then you can make the act of eating everything in front of you your fast. You could drink water or milk instead of coffee, beer or soda. Instead of watching television, read a book. Instead of vegging in front of the computer and surfing the internet, get up and run a mile or two. Instead of doing your work/homework quickly in order to do something else more desirable, make sure you do your work as perfectly as you are able. All of these things can be modes of fasting when one isn't able to normally fast. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
