Why Sci-Fi Has So Many Catholics

Scientists aren’t the only ones who have long been preoccupied with the heavens.

Speaking at Loyola University last month, Brother Guy Consolmagno, S.J., recently named the director of the Vatican Observatory, was enthused. He was lauding the work of 19th-century Jesuit astronomer Angelo Secchi, particularly the cleric’s contributions to spectroscopy.

Not The Philosopher

I was kinda disappointed that the article wasn't about Catholic sci-fi authors, as there are some of them about -  off the top of my head, Gene Wolfe, John C. Wright and Tim Powers are all alive and writing. Wolfe in particular is one of my favourite authors:

We are searching for signs from God, the secular world is searching for resources to make more money. Though another planet with more resources would be nice, i doubt where going to get it though unless we get it right here on earth first, or perhaps not, perhaps after the Resurrection the human race continues and expands the universe and those who where resurrected and deemed worthy become Jedis. lol.
