chrysostom
The Jubilee runs from now until January 21st 2017! There are SO many amazing Dominican saints. St Dominic pray for us. The beautiful painting is by Bernadette Carsensten. The link has a little description of each saint depicted, too. http://jubilee.opeast.org/carstensen/ There's a special plenary indulgence associated with this Jubilee offered for all the faithful, too! Potentially up to once a day. It's described below. Edited November 8, 2015 by chrysostom
Gabriela
Yep. Went to a solemn Vespers yesterday with some Dominicans and read on the back of the handout that I could get a plenary indulgence for that. Who knew.
NadaTeTurbe
In my city, the dominicans began to celebrate their 800th jubilee so early that we say "it have been 800th years that the dominicans are celebrating their 800th birthday"
Sr Mary Catharine OP
Well, the nuns think everyone is about 9 years too late!

Gabriela
Why? 800 years of Dominican life—on Twitter. It just seems... anachronistic!
Sr Mary Catharine OP
It does except Dominicans are supposed to adapt our life for each new age. It's a tension of old and new. That's what St. Dominic did. He started something new by taking the traditional elements of religious life and putting them together in such a way that it was new.I was part of the media team and it was a bit of work but it paid off. I never knew Dominicans to be so efficient! We're not usually!
