Pia Jesu
I have seen many profession Masses, but this one--at the Tyringham, MA Visitation Monastery--brings tears to your eyes! The video shows the Mass in its entirety...with music right from Heaven! The moment when the bishop gives Sr. Anna (from India!) her profession cross and says, "Receive this cross as a seal upon your heart" is incredibly touching. How wonderful to see some Missionaries of Charity and Brigittine nuns sitting in the nun's choir! God bless you, Sr. Anna!
Makarioi
How nice! I was noticing that the bandeau of the other nuns in her community was black
Nunsuch
The Visitation bandeau is traditionally black for professed nuns. For novices, it is white. Use "Google Images" to search for "Visitation Nuns," and you can see many examples of both (as well as some pictures of sisters in modified habits). Jennifer
Thank you for sharing this lovely film of Sr. Anna's first profession mass. She looked so very happy ,supported by her family, sisters and other religious who were present to support her.
Sr Mary Catharine OP
The Spanish Dominican nuns do the same thing with the bandeau. I don't know if it is more "authentic". We Dominicans are a motley crew!
