beatitude
My trike, which is specially adapted for people with disabilities and was bought with a loan from my parents, was stolen from my apartment complex late last night. I'd had it for only three days. The caretaker found its lock lying on the path this morning, severed by bolt-cutters of some kind, and CCTV shows three hooded people kicking in the locked metal gate to the complex and wheeling the trike out. Please pray that the police are successful in retrieving it, or that the thieves have an attack of conscience and turn it in, as what they have stolen is very obviously a disabled person's mobility aid. Those trikes cost a small fortune so it's not as if I can just buy another one. On the positive side, give thanks that its theft turned into an opportunity for me to share the faith. A Muslim friend was with me when we discovered the theft and she was really upset and angry on my behalf. She was listing the harsh punishments that she thought the thieves should get for stealing disabled people's means of transport, so I quoted Jesus on loving and praying for people who've hurt you and I spoke a bit about how I try to live. I was too upset myself to be very coherent about it, but please pray that God will bring good out of what I said.
